She's a big girl now!: Gossip Girl: The recap

I've been a little behind in blogging this show. While I'm trying to give the "Bionic Woman" every possible chance to get better, the truth is, is that it isn't.

That being said, I think my Wednesday nights will belong to the CW. The truth is, I can't WAIT days later to see and blog the show. That being said, here's the recap.

This week was all about Jenny and her quest to get into Blair's good graces during a sleepover. Meanwhile Serena and Dan finally have their first date.

Jenny learns the hard way that the even though the grass appears to be greener that it was not so bad where she was. Blair drags the gang to rescue Eric who's been forced to stay at the Ostroff center and then they go clubbing. Blair makes out with an older man and then steals his phone and Jenny calls the man's fiance to let him know that he's making out with underaged girls.

Serena and Dan have a pretty pitiful date until Serena pipes up that she wanted to date Dan and not the date that Dan thinks she should have. Back at the slumber party, Blair gets Jenny in trouble with police but Jenny manages to wiggle out of it.

And Serena and Dan finally KISS! Yay!

"Even if I cared, I'm just not physically able to express sympathy: "Ugly Betty' The recap

Photo from ABC.com

I love Wilhemina Slater! I love her so much that I want to be her understudy for life.

Last night we got another spot-on, hold your sides laughing episode of "Ugly Betty."

Once again it was full of gems such as Amanda telling Alexis "Friends don't let friends wear glitter before noon. To the ladies room. NOW!"

And from Mark "I love the smell of fresh Prada in the morning..."

But my favorite of the evening.."I transformed from Wanda the assistant to Wilhemina Slater, supermodel."

This week we had Betty take a creative writing class where she had the professor from hell. (Guest star: Victor Garber). He browbeats the class and labels Betty "Clappy" after she expresses enthusiam for a classmate's paper. At home she tells Papa Suarez that she needs to be good. "Not like Jordin Sparks good but more like Kelly Clarkson good." Justin shows up trying to be badass by wearing a leather jacket and drinking milk from a carton. He wants to be more like his dad. I'll continue Justin's storyline right now because I want the producers to stop this immediately. Justin's failing algerbra and drinking beer and bringing home girls (!)

I know he's a kid and everything but let's keep him gay and not go through this "I'm confused about my sexuality thing and want to be more of a man like my dad." It's not funny and you can tell the actor himself looks BO-RED. I want my Hermes loving Justin back immediately!

At Mode, Alexis shows up to work looking like a hot mess, not wearing a bra and wearing entirely too much makeup. After a few adjustments, she's off to her first meeting and proposes the idea of using Anna Nicole Smith on the cover. (Uh-oh Shaggy!)

Meanwhile, Wilhelmina is ready for her new position running Meade Publications and realizes that the other magazines suck and her heart is at Mode. She then launches the clever idea that if she can't have Mode no one else can.

Daniel has to deal with a client who's a homophobe (James Van Der Beek) and doesn't want his work associated with Alex. Daniel tells him to take a hike and Wilhelmina gets the idea of having her own fashion magazine.

Amanda is in Fay's secret lair and tries to find out info on her dad. She learns that Willie used to be her mom's assistant and was an Afro-wearing doudy woman who's had botox and lots of surgery. Yep, she was an "Ugly Willie." Amanda begs to find out who her dad was and Willie tells her that she was conceived during a wild party at Studio 54 and that her dad had a tattoo on his butt of Tweety bird.

Betty meanwhile is dealing with the ramifications of lying during her class. She inadvertantly read someone else's paper as her own and her teacher loved it so much he sent it to the New Yorker. She goes over to interview there and the interviewer tells her that she's carrying a boy. Back at Mode, Betty's confronted by the real author and Daniel steps in to save the day. He explains it as a mix up and saves Betty's bacon. (Nice to know that plagarism can be bought away with a few dollars).

Betty tells Daniel that she's sorry and that she values his opinion. Daniel says that he's a nobody and to do what she feels is best. This leads him to confess to Alexis that he was the cause of the accident and she forgives him.

At home, we see Henry waiting for Betty and he tells him that Justin is out of control. He also reveals inadvertantly that he IS the father of Charlie's baby and Betty tells him to leave.

Betty then faces her class and reads her real paper, much to her professor's dismay.

"Hi, Jamie, boy you look great! How's Becca?": Bionic Woman: The recap

Katee Sackoff is making this show worth watching. The plots and the main actress, Michelle Ryan, however, is not.

After last week's spectacular episode this one fell flatter than the landscape in Kansas. Long dull stretches, a plot no one cared about, lame acting all filled the hour.

With the exception of Katee who chewed the scenery everytime she showed up. It would be a much more interesting show if she was a series regular. The big reveal is that Jamie can be beaten and hurt. And that she only has five years before her bionic parts fail. (Trust me, we wont' EVER get to that point with this show).

Isiah Washington is horribly bored and it shows by his acting. And it seems that the show is wandering around aimlessly.

Now the question remains: Stay or go? I'm hoping that the show gets a spark to keep me interested but I'm beginning to think that "Gossip Girl" might be on my Must See TV list and this is on my catch it if nothing else is on list.

I'm just not seeing gargoyle here: "America's Next Top Model": The recap

photo from www.cwtv.com

Is that a bad photo? Apparently for the judges in "America's Next Top Model" is is.

This is the first week I actually felt that I knew who these girls were. There's a LOT of hatred on this cycle and it appears that my girl Bianca is always as the center of it.

The highlight of the episode for me was the Model formerly known as Danielle showed up and she was amazing! I guess speech therapy DOES work!

Lisa is doing an amazing job but that doesn't sit too well with Bianca and some of the rest of the girls.

I was worried that Ambreal would be taken out because this is NOT her best photo. She was scared of heights ( I feel ya girl) and it showed by her freakout at the photo shoot.

In the end she and Janet were in the bottom two and poor Janet was sent home.

A few random questions: Is it just me or is Tyra seem waay too removed from these girls? Usually she would have dropped by for a chat or something now.

What's going on with Miss Jay's hair?

Tie game: "The Biggest Loser" the recap

Every week I keep telling myself I'm doing to dump this show. But it keeps getting better and better. This week, people's dark side showed up. And one team member, Hollie, suffered the loss of her mom.

Jillian actually showed compassion for Hollie when she had to break the news. Kim, however, did not. When the red team lost the weigh-in she practically held up a sign that said "Dump Amy."

In the end, it was a tie and the blue team kicked Phil to the curb.

Wonder Twin powers: Deactivate! Pretty please?: "Heroes" the recap

Image from NBC.com

Is anyone else sick of the Wonder Twins? They are getting waaay more screentime than they deserve. I'm soo tired of Maya's black eyes of death. But there's hope on the horizon as the twins encounter Sylar who somehow made it off the island and is now in the middle of the desert. He sees their powers first hand and then kills the guy who had the car in order to keep their secret safe.

The cool thing about this episode is the introduction of Micah's cousin who apparently can copy any move she sees on TV. It comes in handy when she foils a robbert at the hamburger joint she works.

In NYC a whole lot is going on: Matt is hot on the case of "Who's stalking the Justice Society aka. the OLD Heroes." Mama Petrelli confesses in order to get police protection and she begs Matt telepathically to leave it alone. At home, Molly is still having nightmares and he and Mohinder have no clue on how to help her. (But how cute was it that Mohinder was singing her an Indian lullaby).

Back at work Matt sees an old photo of the older generation of heroes and sees his estranged dad! He asks Molly to help locate him and we learn he's the guy that's been tormenting the girl in her dreams!

In California, HRG is spooked after seeing an Isaac painting that has him dead and Claire kissing a dude. (We think it's West but who knows because the art is so bad). He forbids her to date and she totally lies to him to sneak off and fly off with West. (I'd be throwing up because I hate heights!).

Claire and West get closer and she cooks up a lie about her being part of the cheersquad. HRG agrees to let her do this if only she doesn't date. (I guess the Company folks don't go to games.)

Back in New York, Molly uses her powers to locate Matt's dad but at a cost: She lapses into a coma! Dun-Dun!!

Diamonds are two girls' best friend: Chuck the recap!

photo from NBC.com

"Chuck" keeps improving by the episode. This episode an old "friendenemy" of Sarah's drops by. She wants Sarah and Casey to help her steal a diamond. But before we get to that point, we're are at Chuck's house where Ellie, Morgan, Captain Awesome (I wonder if we'll ever learn his real name?) are playing a game.

Morgan apparently has his B.A. in Chuck because he knows things about Chuck that only a girlfriend show know. (It's obvious that he has a mancrush on old dude).

Sarah goes to her posh apartment when Katrina comes a calling and after a fight, Sarah beats her down and Katrina tells her what she wants.

Hijinks ensue after they manage to steal the diamond and leave Chuck and Sarah out to dry but not before he puts doubts in Chuck's mind about Sarah.

Katrina manages to slip Morgan the diamond and Chuck finds it. He and Katrina team up to save Sarah and all is well. But it's the last scene where we see the Chuck/Sarah magic. Chuck wants to know one thing about Sarah that's real and it's clear that it pains her not to be able to share her secrets with Chuck. After he leaves to get some napkins, she whispers that her middle name is "Lisa." AWWWWW!

"Because this waits for no man!": Desperate Housewives, the recap

"Desperate Housewives" were on point again! It's the perfect mix of drama and humor. What I loved: Bree accidentally sending Susan to an OB-GYN in a bad neighborhood. The charades party! Gaby and Carlos!

Bree and Gaby prying into Katherine's business. Edie "accidentally" announcing their engagement. Susan confronting Bree about the the doctor.

Gabby flirting with Adam at the party. Adam apparently is a cheat and Katherine's keeping him on a short leash. Lynette stoned out of her mind.

Julie the lockpicker! Dylan and Julie sneaking into the locked room. and Carlos hiring an accountant instead of a hitman.

We start off with Bree filling the girls in on what she overheard last episode and everyone trying to avoid another one of Susan's boring parties, but when Bree says that Katherine may be there, everyone decides to go,

Lynette's mom takes things into her own hands and hires Andrew to buy pot for Bree and then makes the into brownies. (Yay for them remembering that Tom and Lynette have kids including Tom's daughter Kayla whom we haven't seen in forever).

Gaby and Carlos are still sneaking around but she's fed up and Carlos begs for a few weeks so he can dump Edie. Edie takes it upon herself to announce that she and Carlos are engaged much to Gaby's dismay.

Susan asks for Bree's OB-GYN and is sent to a seedy area. Katherine acosts Gaby when she spilled her wine on him. During the party Orson has to take a call where he learns that Danielle is having complications with her pregnancy which complicates things for him and Bree who's been faking her pregnancy.

And we get more progression on the secret that Katherine's been holding.

I'm not a Mode girl: Ugly Betty, the recap

I love, love, love the magic that is "Ugly Betty" for the first time I chose to watch "Betty" live and DVR "Survivor." I think a lot of people are doing the same because this show is funny and on-point. It's the perfect mix of drama and humor.

The theme of last night's episode was: There's shades of grey in everything. Everyone at Mode was abuzz about the upcoming "Black and White Ball."

We start out with Betty and a drunk-on-wine-coolers Henry who talk about being together. Betty says she can wait until they find out the paternity of the baby and Henry agrees.

At Mode, Wilhemina and Marc talk about the delay of the wedding. Willie sounds defeated and Marc grabs her and tells her not to go down without a fight and to tell amnesiac Alexis what's going on.

Betty is telling Christina what happened with Henry when the sandwich guy comes by. (Note: Didn't Betty bring her lunch last season? What happened to the Mode cafe?). It turns out the sandwich guy (played by "Six Feet Under's" Freddie Rodriguez) is a sandwich maestro. He and Betty have a back and forth and then he leaves. Betty complains to Daniel who promptly gets him fired.

Marc and Amanda want to use the Black and White Ball as Amanda's big debut as Fey's daughter. Last week's plotline about Bradford maybe being her father was dropped (thankfully) because of the ick factor of Amanda and Daniel sleeping together.

Justin is dealing with his dad's death and gets the bright idea to ask Daniel (who's in a wheelchair) to help him learn.( I'm sensing a funny montage of errors at this point.)

Betty then catches up with the sandwich guy and gets him his job back. He doesn't want it and says he needs to work on his five-year plan. She hires him to go to N.J. to pick up a wheelchair that Daniel wanted. Along the way the two talk about their future and try to sing with Toni Braxton's "Un-Break My Heart." He points out to Betty that she is wasting time and needs to focus more on her future and less on Daniel's.

Meanwhile, Claire Meade, who's on the lam since killing Fey Summers and Yoga make a plan to crash the ball. She wants Bradford back and decides this would be the perfect opportunity. Yoga obviously has a thing for Claire so she's not to happy about it.

At the hospital, Willie talks to Alexis and shows her an album that says BFF Forever. (Hy-ster-ical). It shows them marking in the gay pride parade, shopping, and sqaure dancing(???) Alexis gives her approval for the wedding and Willie is happy.

In Mexico, Papa Suarez faces off against the man he thought he killed- his wife's first husband. It turns out he survived the beating and wants flan. After the flan is made, he wants Papa Suarez killed. Thankfully, he's not.

On the basketball court, poor Justin is dribbling with two hands and playing bullets and bracelets with the basketball. Daniel get so frustrated that he gets up out the chair and makes a shot. Justin is stunned and Daniel explains he's trying to get "close" to the physical therapist. Justin agrees to keep it a secret until Hilda sees it on his phone. She tells Betty and Betty is ticked. Why? Because she had to go over to N.J. to get a wheel chair from a salesman (the actor played Edgar on "24" two seasons ago).

At the Ball, Amanda fails to make a splash until Marc steps on her gown and she's nude. Claire finds Bradford and begs him to run away with her but he refuses and wishes her well. Willie sees them and announces that the wedding is back on and Claire slinks away.

One of the things I love about this show is the fact that there's some reality basis to it. This week Kenneth Cole makes an appearance and is hysterical.

The show ends with Betty and Henry reconnecting but there might be a new guy on the horizon: The sandwich guy.

Adults are talking: Bionic Woman

WWWAAAAAAAYYYYYYY better!!!

I had almost given up hope but then they gave us this episode. Katee Sackoff is the best and to be honest they should have cast HER as the "Bionic Woman."

She's much better than Michelle Ryan.

This week, we had Jamie actually go out on assignment for the NOT OSI and do a pretty good job. She had to protect this spoiled Canadian girl but that part was boring.

The exciting stuff was with Sarah Corbin who's a much more interesting character and it turns out that Sarah's bionics are slowly killing her and she wants Jamie to go with her to Will's dad so he can study her and save Sarah. It also turns out that Will really wasn't interested in Jamie but was casing her as a candidate for bionics.

Sarah has the best lines in the entire episode: She tells Jamie that the NOT OSI are a bit pervy and "They don't tell you how objectifying this whole bionic woman thing is. They don't tell you anything, that's why you and me need to stick together maybe form a union."

Later when the spoiled Canadian girl says they should flee the scene, Sarah shushes her with "Adults are talking!"

It all boils down to a showdown between Jamie and Sarah and it turns out to be a draw. During the fight, when Jamie's sister Becca is in trouble, Sarah says if she kills Becca they could be more connected and even offers: "We could wear matching outfits. How do you look in capris?"

Next week: Jamie goes wild.

Believe it or not I'm walking on air: Heroes: The Recap

Shirtless Peter! Suspicious Claire. A jealous Hiro and the Wonder Twins embrace their powers all adds up to a pretty darn good episode of "Heroes."

I'll start with the plot I cared the least about: Maya and Alejandro. They're still working their way toward America when Zan er, Alejandro tries to steal a car because Maya is dehydrated and needs to rest. Here's a thought: REST! Don't be running around in broad daylight with Wanted posters everywhere! He gets arrested and Maya has to enact the "The Scary Black Eyes of Death" and take out the folks in the jail including a gringo in the cell next to Alejandro who conveniently has a car. Alejandro struggles to use his powers to stop the officers and the gringo from dying.

Anyone else thinks that Maya's going to hook up with Sylar?

And speaking of everyone's favorite bad guy, he's holed up with Candace who now goes by Michelle since the actress left the show to go to the CW's "Reaper." So we have a new actress who's pretty horrible and not as good. Sylar is ticked because NONE of his powers work due to the stab wound inflicted by Hiro in last year's finale. He looks defeated but luckily for us he decided to off Candice and we finally see her for who she is. I'm glad because this recasting thing wasn't working for me.

In Vegas, we learn that D.L. died (shock and surprise since he hasn't been seen on any of the promotional materials) and Niki and leave for a fresh start. Niki drops Micah off in New Orleans where if you're a "Star Trek" fan you see a familiar face.

In Ireland, we have Peter doing a full on Justice League of America display of his powers as he uses Matt's telepathy and telekisis to stop a bad guy. After all the build up about the box, Peter decides not to open it and appears to stay in Ireland for now.

In NYC: Mohinder moves in Issac's old digs (good recycling of a set) as his new lab for The Company. At home, Mohinder tells Molly that he's never leaving again. At the lab, Mohinder makes a startling discovery which we'll go into later.

In California, Claire is embarrassed by Stalker West in science class. She admits to him that she's different and in a Superman move he scoops her up and flies her to the beach. He confesses that when he lived in St. Louis he was captured by a man.... wait for it..... with Horned Rimmed Glasses and didn't know what happened to him.

Mohinder calls HRG and shows him a jpeg of a painting that Issac did which shows HRG dead and Claire kissing some boy. Dun-Dun!!

They really, really hate each other: Gossip Girl: The recap

The CW has thrown a ton of money promoting this show and I had planned on skipping it, but now, it's my secret (until now) guilty pleasure. And I watch it on Sunday afternoons, so look for the recap then instead of Wednesday.

Imagine is Brenda and Kelly were constantly fighting on "90210" and you'd have the relationship betwen Serena and Blair. This week, it's college week and everyone's favorite spoiled brats are trying to get in to Brown and Yale but we all know that neither school would turn down a fat check to get a kid in the school.

At school things are still tense, so tense that Blair and Serena get into a scuffle and Blair fakes an injury in order not to look bad. She decides to take Serena down once and for all and has Jack to follow her around and follow her to the center where here little brother was taken after his suicide attempt.

Meanwhile, Blair's boyfriend aka "Torn Between Two Lovers" is having a problem telling his dad he wants to go to USC. But for some reason the dad doesn't understand the words coming out his life. At the boys' school, Dan desperately wants to go to Dartsmouth but isn't chosen to be an usher. His dad steps in and gets Dan a gig serving punch at the exclusive college party. Dan's dad plays the music while Dan's sister Jenny comes to the party wearing Blair's handmedown dress. Serena's brother tells her the sordid details of his stay and Jenny promises to keep his secret.

At the party, Blair embarrasses the heck out of Serena by outing her as a druggie in front of the whole school and the Brown representative. (I say, if you're gonna take someone down, then this is how to do it). Everyone is shocked except for Jenny who breaks her promise (she kept the secret for like all of five minutes) and tells Dan that Serena is taking the fall to protect her brother.

Serena pretends she's a druggie to save her little bro but he makes Blair feel very small when he shows here the marks on his wrists.

The next day in a freakish rainstorm the two girls make up but based on the metaphor of the rain, we can tell stormy days are ahead.

Ugly is the new pretty: Ugly Betty the recap

"Girl I am black and you are Mexican. Let's not talk around it like a bunch of dull white people." Wilhemina Slater.

This show just keeps getting better and better. From Papa Suarez deciding to go across the border to Justin finally showing some sadness about his dad's unexpected death we went through all layers and back.

I'm sooo glad that Christina FINALLY told Henry the truth about Charlie and the baby! I was rolling on the couch when Amanda decided to dump the dog but I'm glad she came to her senses. And how much did we like Alexis with out makeup.

And of course, my heart broke for poor Justin when he saw where his dad died. And how awesome was Vanessa Williams this episode? Now on to the Betty goodness!

We start out with Betty causing chaos at a meeting at Mode. In Betty's clumsy fashion she reached out for food and bagels and everything were flying everywhere. Marc then points out that "Don't worry, no one really noticed." We then have the awkward reunion of Betty and Henry.

Amanda's looking for money and the only thing she gets from the late Fey Summer's estate is a mangy dog.

Justin has started his intern at Mode and surprise! He takes to it like a duck to water. Marc is thrilled because he now has a real life understudy. Daniel and Papa Mede are trying to take care of Alexis and they decide by telling her little white lies and "rewriting" history.

Meanwhile, Willie's having an afternoon delight with a big, bad bodyguard (Played by her real life ex husband Rick Fox). Unfotunately Betty and Christina are stuck under her bed while this is going on because Betty decides to steal the Book so that Daniel could sign off on it.

After Willie discovers that Betty knows her secret she makes her a deal: Keep your mouth shut and your dad comes home. Tell and you're screwed.

Betty decides to keep quiet and feels extremely guilty, especially after Daniel tells her that she's the only person he can trust.

We end the episode with Papa Suarez getting kidnapped and Betty and a drunk on wine coolers Henry deciding whether or not they want to be together.

Girlfight: The America's Next Top Model Recap

Oh Tyra. You are my crack and I'm your addict. Every season I tell myself that I'm not going to watch and then you have a contestant that I hate to love. This season it's Bianca. Girfriend is sooo ghetto-fab it's not funny. Who else would admit to a $25 weave? Who else would be responsible for this quote: "Check yo thighs in the mirra..."

She takes horrible photos but has an attitude to spare that I want her to stay on my TV screen as long as possible and then crushed at the end when the big dream eludes her.

So far Bianca has argued with most of sistas in the house and she's targeted Lisa the former stripper (oops: I mean she totally had a bikini on but only did lap dances) and Saleisha who may walk away with this thing.

Tyra and crew seem to be high on Heather who takes amazing photos but because she has a form of autism is having problems relating to the other girls.

Last night the girls had to walk in a straight jacket for Miss Jay and oddly enough some said they felt right at home doing it. (Let's not go there) and then they had the girls do a runway show of some designer I had never heard of but the clothes were in a word: UGLY.

Saleisha won the challenge much to Bianca's dismay. And then she gives us the second quote of the evening: "Don't let the red hair fool ya, I know HIGH fashion." Really Bianca????? Really???This week's photo challenge had the girls wearing the couture gowns and hanging from a rock wall. Jenah totally walked away with this one. Although I liked Lisa's photo a lot too. But girl needs to be more model-y and less stripper-y.

Unfortunately poor what'shername from Florida was booted.

Next week: Someone gets her hair chopped off> Based on the long hair girls I pray it's Ebony because her bad weave bothers me.

She's running out of steam: The "Bionic" recap

A lot of my friends and I were split on the pilot for "Bionic Woman," I saw the potential, they saw crap. I'm beginning to think they were right. I have no qualms admitting I was wrong.

Last night, we saw Episode 2 and it this is the direction the train is going, then I'm jumping off after the next episode.

"Bionic Woman": The recap
We catch up with Jamie and her little bratty sister (I still can't remember that girl's name, that's how little she's impacted me so far) at Will's funeral. Poor Jamie, first she loses her baby, then she been upgraded to Jamie 2.0 and now Will is dead. (Of course, last week, it looked like he just had a shoulder wound but that's just me). Miguel Ferrer (aka Not Oscar Goldman) shows up to remind Jaime that she's porting $50,000,000 worth of his hardware and that she needs to come do some good in the world.

His good in the world and hers are vastly different because fast forward two scenes later and she's slamming some random dude in the men's room in a bar. NOG shows up and reminds her that she's wasting time. I fear so are we....

And then we go into the lovely opening sequence which in a word sucks. I miss the old slo-mo with hair flowing in the wind and cool sound effects. This is just angry rock music, a woman silhoutted against a white glass in a black room. It's like angst art with out the angst and the um, art.

After the break we find out that Bratty McBrat has been smoking pot in the girl's room. I know this is supposed to be San Francisco and all but this girl looks like she would need help buying a 7-Up and we're supposed to believe she scored some pot??? But I digress.

Fifteen-minutes into the show, someone remembers this is called the "Bionic" woman and not "Random boring chick" and we see her bionics in action. She saves a woman from jumping from a building. Um Yay! Plus, who jumps backward from a building? If you're going die, then just go for it. (Yes, I know I'm cruel, but my frustration is building).

Jaime decides after seeing her slacker friends actually get jobs and go on with their lives to go work for NOG and his crew. Along the way, she meets Isiah "He-who-hurls-the-"F"-word-around-but-got fired-and-now-this-is-the-best-he-could-do "Washington. They have a Yoda/Karate Kid/wise black person moment in a book store and she decides to pay NOG a visit. She lays down a laundry list of what she will and won't do. NOG agrees but should be reaching for the "OFF" or "MUTE" button because her demands are crazy!

Amazing how last week she ran for her life and this week she has a shiny new badge and can walk up and down the halls with no problem. Then it's time for the "training montage". See Jamie's body. See Jamie do one handed pull-ups. See Jaime run (but with NO sound effects booooo!!!). And then viola! She's ready for her first mission: Trying to figure out who killed an Idaho town with a weaponized bio-agent. It turns out NOG and his crew created it and enemy hands got a hold of it.

Meanwhile, Jae gets yellow roses from Sarah aka "Ta-dah" and they go off to have some Bionic lovin'. She tells him that she got hacked and that's why she went crazy. (Has he forgotten this woman killed NotMcDreamy?)

Jamie and the blond woman who wanted to "talk about their feelings" go into the town as the "Department of Agriculture" and find that there's some soliders trying to kill the only survivor of the plague.

A soldier hands Jaime's butt to her until she realizes that she's BIONIC and then fights back. (I guess all that training was for naught). Bratty McBrat calls and wants her Tenacious D T-shirt during this just to remind viewers she's on the show.

She and the blond are rescued by IW and crew (how they got their that fast is beyond me) and then terrorist cell is taken down.

Meanwhile Jamie and Bratty bond and make up. The end.

Chuck: The recap

The premise: Nerd Herd-er Chuck accidentally downloads the government's secrets and two agents are sent to protect him.
Chaos ensues and it makes us viewers very, very happy.

Tonight: Chuck learns a lesson in trust. Trusting Sarah: Good. Trusting Casey: Bad, very bad. While this episode wasn't as great as the first episode it still was pretty darn good.

We learn that a government doctor might be able to extract the secrets the Chuck holds in his brain. We know he won't be successful because it would end the show would it not? And it'd make us all very, very unhappy.

Chuck clearly is in love with Sarah and she's falling for him but Casey keeps putting these not so trusting thoughts in his head and that's bad, very bad.

Meanwhile Ellie is ticked because Chuck's nerdy, slacker friend has met Sarah and she hasn't. (Note to the hairstylist: please do something about Sarah Lancaster's bangs because they are sooo not attractive)

I'm hoping that this show can continue with this mix of action, comedy and drama because it could be one of the shining stars of the season.

Heroes: The recap

After a ho-hum last episode this episode picked up a little steam. I'm not ready to do backflips just yet but I'm more excited than last year.

Here's were we are: Peter is slowly getting his powers back and looks as if he's falling in love with a lovely Irish lass. HIro is still stuck in the past and learns that Tenze has powers too (like Claire's). Could he be her ancestor???

Claire has decided that she's going to test her powers by CUTTING.OFF. HER. LITTLE. TOE!! EWWW gross! (Do NOT try this at home!) Unfortunately, creepy/stalker Wes saw her do it and promptly flew away. I'm calling it: Wes is secretly EVIL!!!

The not so Wonder Twins display their powers: Maya apparently can kill people when she gets too panicked while Alejandro apparently is the cure to her blackness. (GAWD, is this like the dumbest power yet?) I don't give a flying fig about them.

Over at 3M (Mohinder, Matt and Molly's) the actress known as Molly gets the easiest paycheck ever as she sleeps, Matt is exhausted after protecting Mama Petrelli from the evil that is stalking the old heroes. And Mohinder helps the Haitian reunite with Noah.

My question: When's Kristen Bell coming? What's going on with DL. Nikki/Jessica and Micah?

OK, I lied!

"Desperate Housewives" was actually pretty decent tonight! They packed a LOT in and it looks as if it actually MIGHT be an interesting season!

I am in TV heaven

A lot of my TV shows have come back and I'm just overflowing with TV goodness!

My recommendations to add: "Chuck," "Journeyman" "Gossip Girl" and "Bionic Woman."

I'm dropping: "Desperate Housewives" and "Prison Break" (The thrill is gone Wenty).

I'm now on the fence about "Heroes" "The Biggest Loser" and "Deal or No Deal" (Tameka's bad weave, the bad music and the one contestant per episode is bothering me.)

Why I like "Chuck": The cast is amazing (Although they need to stop showing Special Agent "Buffy" wannabe in her underwear). The lead actor is believable in the part. Now, it'll take a lot to keep this degree of goodness going. It was the perfect mix of comedy, intrigue and action. Think "Alias" with a nerdy lead actor.

Why I like "Journeyman": There's nothing else like it on TV right now and the lead actor seems to have this presence about him that makes you want to watch. The premise of a guy leapfrogging through time is interesting and exciting. Plus there's a mystery in his life and a question: Does he save his "dead" finacee or focus on mission at hand. Plus we're wondering why him?

Why I like "Gossip Girl": Two words: Kristen Bell. The rest of the cast is waay too old to be playing teenagers. Although this episode was better than the pilot. There's a lot of ways it can go. Plus I'm beginning to feel sad for poor Serena.

Why I like the "Bionic Woman": I dunno yet. I just do. Maybe it's the excitement of this show or maybe I'm living in nostalgia.

What are YOU adding and why?

Heroes the recap

First things first: I am NEVER going to be a Nissan Rogue. GAWD those commercials back to back drove me NUTS! Can we get MORE product placement please?

The theme of this episode was: Lies, lies and more lies.

At the family formerly known as the Bennetts, Claire, Kyle, Noah, Claire's mom and Mr. Muggles are all settling down in their new life in California. Claire hates it because she can't show everyone how special she really is since she's the new girl in school. But she might make friends with her shiny new Nissan Rogue (AACK). On the first day she gains a boy's attention when she almost steps in front of his car and then plays with a burner in Chem class. Later, at P.E. she saves a chubby girl from being picked on by the cheerleaders (which are ALL cheerleaders mean or is this just a cliche?). We learn later in the episode that she knows Nathan survived the blast that "killed" Peter and when she reaches out to talk to him, we see Nathan is a big drunk who's wallowing in the bottle. We see that the boy who's been stalking Claire all day has a superpower: Flying. This brings up a bunch of questions such as : Didn't they establish last season that each Hero have a unique power? And was he drawn to Claire because he could sense she was different?

Noah Butler is totally unhappy with his job at Copy King. You'd be too if a snot-nosed brat was ordering you around. He finally opens up a can of whoop-ass on the punk and puts him in his place.

Across the country we see Matt Parkman trying out for NYPD. We learn that he's now divorced (A divorce in four months?? And what about his baby?) He makes the squad and we also learn that he's trying to forge a life with Mohinder and Molly (Two dads and a little lady) Molly apparently has bad dreams about the Boogyman who's not Syler and it's causing her teacher some worry.

Across town, Angela Petrelli isn't happy that Nate didn't follow her plans and she's busy packing up his belongings. Hiro's Dad and Ando meanwhile are holding a vigil hoping for his return. But it's been four months since the explosive finale. We then learn that Hiro's Dad and Angela both have a threat against their life (Uh-oh, someone's not going to make it.)

In Honduras, we meet the wonder twins: Alejando and Maya who spends most of the episode sweaty and running. It turns out they are wanted for murder and then later on when their separated Maya kills a whole truckload of people because she's separated from her brother.

In India, Mohinder is contacted by The Company who wants him to work for them to help them find the cure for the virus that may have killed his sister. But then we learn that he and Noah are working together to bring The Company down.

And we end with the discovery of Peter but he's lost his memory. OH, the DRAMA!

I'm ready! Are you?

Tomorrow my show comes back!!! I NEVER thought the summer would end. Paired with "Chuck" and "Journeyman" it's become quite apparently that I am NBC's bitch on Mondays.

I've decided to let this Web site keep me abreast of what's going on with "Prison Break." That doesn't mean that I'm not going to stop DVRing the show though. And now that "The Biggest Loser" appears to be my main Tuesday night show, I might slide PB into Tuesday nights at 9 p.m. That'll lead me into "Law and Order SVU"

Wednesday is going to be a bit tough. 8 p.m. has "Deal or No Deal" going head to head against "America's Next Top Model" which leads to the 9 p.m. pileup. I'm all about the "Bionic Woman" and I'm willing to give "Gossip Girl" a few more weeks. But I'm really curious about "Private Practice."

Thursday has "Ugly Betty", "Survivor" and "Smallville" all against each other. While I haven't watched "S-ville" in forever, they are going to have this heroine on board so I can't wait to see that. I'm hoping that they'll repeat "S-ville" on Sundays so I can catch that then.

Friday is more "DOND" but it looks that "The Search for the Next Great American Band" might be the "American Idol" of the fall. Saturday sucks because it's nothing but repeats. And Sunday looks dry too. I'm dumping "Desperate Housewives" but then I remember they will have a gay couple on so I might watch for a few episodes.

And that's my week in TV viewing.

And now for some RECAPS! Yep. I'm going to attempt to recap a few of the shows I've been watching during the week. I won't do every show just the buzz worthy ones or the scandalous ones. =-)

The Biggest Loser
OK, confession time. I have a love/hate relationship with this show. I love it because I like watching people changing their lives. I hate the way it portrays fat people. I mean do the guys really have to weigh themselves shirtless? And are jog bras the best choice to be weighed?
That being said, the big reveal of the Black Team joining the Red and Blue Teams would have been cool if NBC didn't advertise it do death all LAST week!

If I had to be on a team, I'd like to be on the Blue Team with Bob. He's nice to look at, totally gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) but it appears he actually cares about the contestants. When he talked to a contestant from the other team after she walked out on her trainer, that showed real class. And then, there's Jillian. I could not train under her. There's wishing the best for your clients and then there's browbeating them into submission. I would not work well under that circumstance. This week, they booted poor Lezlye who appeared to have a really stinky attitude. But I guess I would too if Hurricane Katrina decimated my life.

"America's Next Top Model"
If you aren't watching this show, you should. I'm telling you it has drama, sexiness, craziness and most of all TYRA! This season, started with a bang as they narrowed 30 girls down to 20 on board a big cruiseship. With Miss Jay teaching the girls how to walk and Mr.Jayand Tyra (You must click on this link, trust me!). These new girls range from the cute Lisa to the OK Ambreal to the "what was your momma thinking when she named you this." I'm looking at you Saleisha.

It's too early to tell to see who'll win. But maybe next week, I'll have more of an idea.

"Survivor: China"
OH. There just are no words to describe the first episode but the only thing I could come up with is AWESOME.
When you have a contestant who's name is "Chicken" and you have a WWE diva onboard you KNOW it's going to be a great episode. Of course they have the "Survivor" standards: the bitchy gay guy, the woman who's unprepared to camp, the "I'm going to be the leader but I don't want folks to think of me as the leader, the hot young guys, the hot young girls and of course the clueless. I'm rooting for James because I have him in the company office pool.

Fall TV viewing starts early!

So my friend Jump The Snark tells me that his TiVo (GAWD, I love TiVo) has some of the NBC Fall Preview shows.

So for grins, I wanted to see if my old DVR would have the same and it did!!! (YAY!)

We saw the original pilot at Comic-Con and I wanted to see how this would differ. They recast the actress who originally played the sister. But for the most part, the pilot pretty much stays in tact.

If you've seen the commerical, you've pretty much seen the first episode. The special effects are better than what we saw at Comic-Con. It still has some flaws (no spoilers just in case you wanted to watch for yourself) but I think I'm adding it to my Wednesday night routine.

I have to say, I loved the nod to "Superman" when Jamie escapes to go back to her old life. And everyone please STOP using this song to convey emotion? Because every since we heard the song on this show, it's been freaking EVERYWHERE!

The "Bionic Woman" goes online Sept. 26th.

Chuck

The next show I watched was "Chuck." I couldn't get into the Comic-Con panel but I really, really liked this show. The premise: Chuck works at a Best Buy ripoff (I wonder if they are suing?) and he gets an e-mail from an old classmate which contains all of the government's secrets. It sounds pretty dumb but it's executed pretty smartly. This makes it tough for me because now I have to choose on Monday nights: Prison Break or Chuck?

Scared straight (well not literally)..

Tonight I watched the season premiere of "The Biggest Loser" from my couch and felt so guilty. These people are seriously kicking butt! I felt so bad for them but I knew that they were taking steps towards improving their lives.

I think the thing that got me was the table they showed with all the food these people consumed. I guess, no I know I'm guilty of mindless eating. It's easy you grab food, eat on the couch and then start eating.

Then this year, they added a twist of adding another team with Jillian aka Scary Demon. It's going to be an interesting season and I know for me, I'm going to try to work out more so that I can lose along with these people.

Two weeks until fall TV and counting...

Tomorrow Tyra has her fall premiere and her talk show's gone through some big changes. First, she's moved the talk show to N.Y.C.

And not to be outdone, lady O also has her premiere tomorrow from NYC as well.

The "Biggest Loser" kicks off its season on Tuesday with a lady from San Diego among the contestants.

And then the week of Sept. 24, it when the rest of the shows roll back. I cannot wait!

The new TV season begins tomorrow (sorta)

Was scanning the old DVR tonight desperately looking for something to watch when I came across "The Biggest Loser" reunion special.

Believe it or not, this unofficially kicks off the TV season. That along with Whoopi Goldberg taking her seat at "The View" in the morning. And then over the course of the next few weeks a bunch of shows take a bow.

It looks like it's shaping up to be a good TV season, but since my time is going to be more limited than ever, I'm going to have to take a pass on some shows or be very careful about what shows I'm going to watch and what shows can wait until the weekends.

Here's my non-negotiable list for the fall

Mondays:
"Prison Break," "Heroes," "24" "Chuck"
Tuesdays
"The Biggest Loser," "Law & Order "SVU"
Wednesdays
"The Bionic Woman"
Thursdays
"Survivor", "Ugly Betty"

Unfortunately, there's nothing to watch on Fridays and Saturdays (Hello Netflix) and Sundays is looking iffy too. I heard they were thinking of holding "The Amazing Race" until January and "Desperate Housewives" has lost its hold on me but I might read the recaps or wander through every now and then.

So, what's on YOUR must-watch list?

The saga of "Anchorwoman'

Last Wednesday, Fox debuted a new reality show called "Anchorwoman" where a former swimsuit model, Lauren Jones, worked as an anchorwoman at a CBS affiliate in Tyler, Texas.

Months before the show hit the air, it was getting poor reviews and even "Good Morning America" got in on the act. Note how snooty, Diane and Robin are.

Well I watched it, and it wasn't half bad. Lauren is actually endearing and you could tell she really wanted to learn. Some of her co-workers had big sips of the hater-aide and wanted no part of it. The rest of the episodes are going to be aired on Fox on Demand so be prepared to watch.

I think Fox made a big mistake and hopefully it'll get picked up on another network. Or you could go to those deep dark places on the Internet where the episodes are.

Is it fall yet?

I don't know about the rest of you, but these last few weeks have been pretty busy for me. But I'm back.
The summer TV season has been D-U-L-L. I thought I'd like "Big Brother 8" but it's not been as entertaining as I thought.

I've dumped "Saving Grace," and said goodbye to "Rescue Me." I've been letting my Netflix work for me for now. But I've caught up with some great shows that I've missed over the past season.

Right now, I'm into "Weeds" but I'm a season behind because I can't afford Showtime. It's OK because it's better to watch it on Netflix because you can whiz through the episodes pretty quickly.

Today, I got my hands on "Ugly Betty" season one, the "Bettyfied" edition. I cannot WAIT until this show comes back.

CBS also unveiled the new constants for "Survivor: China". Can you believe this is the 15th edition of this show already??

Well, I'm off to another crappy night of TV viewing....

It's not me, it's you. Breaking up is hard to do...

With the fall season fast approaching, I've decided for the sake of my DVR I'm going to break up with a few shows to make room for some shows I have high hopes for.

So here's my list of shows that are purged from my DVR.

1) "Rescue Me": While two seasons ago, the show was funny, gritty, fresh and innovative, it's not that way anymore. I just don't like these guys. They don't touch my heart anymore and I find myself rooting for these firefighters to bite the big one. Plus the rape of Janet by Tommy was the moment that drove me over the age.

2) "Desperate Housewives": It used to be campy fun, now it's just a cliched mess.

3) "Survivor": It's on probation. I need to check out the first few episodes to see if I care.

4) "Deal or No Deal," and "1 vs. 100" I don't need to see every episode. I can just check in now and then.

And here's what I'm excited about.

1) "Nip/Tuck": Now that Christian and Sean have moved to L.A. I can't wait to see what adventures these two get into.

2) "Chuck": Nerd gets all the government's secrets downloaded into his brain. Premise sounds interesting.

3) "Bionic Woman" Saw preview at Comic-Con. With some retooling, this could work.

4) "Ugly Betty": Just bring Justin and his fabulousness back.

5) "Heroes": Can't wait to see what Chapter Two is all about.

6) "Prison Break": How's Michael going to get out of this??????

7) "24": Let's just pretend last season didn't happen.

3) "Bionic Woman":

The Secrets of Isis

Last week, I bought a DVD for my birthday which brought back lots of good childhood memories. But then when you watching thing through adult eyes, it tends to be funny.

After a horrible Comic-Con experience, I took a few episodes of "Isis" and called it a day. The show is hysterically bad but I still love it. it takes me back to when I was an 8 year old and shouting out "Oh zephyr winds which blow on high, lift me now, so I can fly". Nothing ever happened although my sister and I conjured up a breeze once, that's about it.

The things I noticed about the show: To save money, they used the same scenes of Andrea changing into Isis over and over again. In episode, they obviously used an actor to portray a gorilla. Why? Because you could see his eyes through the mask. Sometimes Isis needed to do her chant to fly, other times, she just took off. Miss Thomas seemed to have two skirts (blue jean and khaki) and one pair of brown shoes. The kids never seemed to have parents because Cindy Lee was always at school and would sometimes even call the teachers by their first names. I also never seemed to be clear on what Isis and her powers were. She could stop time, had super strength and could run really fast. Othertimes she could control the forces of nature. Whatever she did, it was blast going down memory lane.

Comic-Con preview

In a few weeks, I'll be going to the biggest Pop Culture event of the year. Comic-Con!!! It's one of the reasons I moved to San Diego (well, that and the sun and cute guys) and I've only missed one in all the years I've lived here.

In my secret identity, I work for a media company so I actually have to earn money for my mortgage but here aret two things I'm looking forward to seeing:

1) The new Bionic Woman. This show will be appointment TV for me. Just based on the preview alone. I'm praying that they will show the pilot at Comic-Con. I remember the magic when they showed the pilot of this show. and how spellbound I was. Although it wasn't the actual show that was aired, it was enough to keep me hooked for a whole season.

2) Supergirl. I'm such a big fan of this character so I can't wait to see what "Smallville" does with this character. I pray they don't make her a sexy, vampy sort of character.

Veronica Mars
OK, I'm so ticked that the CW replaced tonight's episode with a rerun of freakin' "Beauty and the Geek!!!" Why?!!!! You've already cancelled the show, could we watch the last few episodes in peace???!!

Big Brother

My Sunday and Thursday nights are saved!
"Big Brother" is da bomb. Where else can you watch a woman cry for 10 minutes over her photo! It was hysterical. And then then to see the group doused in butter!!!

I'm rooting for Jameka and Joe because they seem to bring the most life in the House.

Thursday, July 05, 2007

Do you like to watch?

I do.
This summer, "Big Brother 8" has gotten my attention in a big way.

This year they've added people's enemies to the house guest roster. I'm keeping my eyes on Dustin and Joe.

Why? Because they're ex boyfriends and two bitchy queens. Joe blurted out that Dustin gave him the clap (I'm so not kidding).

The other set of enemies are Daniele and her dad Evil Dick and high school rivals Jessica and Carol.

Also, we learned that America has their own player: href="http://www.cbs.com/primetime/bigbrother8/bio_soft/eric.shtml">Eric.

We'll see how interesting it gets.

Hey Paula!

You know a show is BAD when a Web site that likes to recap stops after the FIRST night.
It's a really bad trainwreck this show. Like "Being Bobby Brown" bad! We learned that a sleepy Paula is a loopy Paula. We also learn that she's not so nice to her assistants either.

The Paris Hilton interview

Tonight on CNN! Paris! Paris! And more Paris!!

Larry King "interviewed" Paris tonight and it was one of the worst interviews ever. Did we learn anything new? NO!

Paris looked uncomfortable at times and Larry tried to nail her to the cross but she ducked and weaved and kept givings answers such as

"I've matured." "I'm on a journey" and of course my favorite "I did my time."
I'm a wimp and I freely admit it but I think I could hang three weeks in the pokey especially if I weren't threatened by some big man named Bubba.
What was odd was there were no phone in calls. And only one outside question by a "fan" of hers.

And if this wasn't enough, "Anderson Cooper 360" continued with the coverage. Anderson brought up good points about her sex tape and the other tape with her using the "N-word."

You could just tell that Anderson was just itching to have done the interview. He points out that while Paris said she read the Bible every day yet couldn't produce her favorite when asked.

I'm betting that Oprah will do a better job.

A hot mess but I LOVE it!!!!!!

Are you watching "Age of Love" on NBC?

If not, you should be. Oh, where to be begin? The show's about a hot tennis star who's 30 years old. He thinks he's on a regular "Bachelor type" dating show. I bet you anything, that when he was pitched this show that they used that phrase. But here's the twist, the ladies he initially meets are all 40+ with the exception of one lady who's 39 but I think she's fudging her age.

The look on his face when he saw the women was just beyond priceless! The women think they are all competing against each other and THEN a helicopter comes with Pussycat Doll wannabes and they now are in the competition too.

They got the skankiest girls possible (one even hula-hoops in high heels and a bikini!).

If you missed this, they are going to rebroadcast this Monday (June 25) at 8 p.m. and then go into the new show that night. Don't miss it!

How do you laugh through pain?

Last night, comedian Kathy Griffin faced a problem that a lot of us know first-hand: the death of a loved one.

Kathy's dad died back in February and this show handled his unexpected death with dignity.

I lost both of my parents within the last five years and let me tell you, I wish I could have handled it with class like she did. When they announced that Kathy's dad died, I cried like he was a member of my own family.

You can catch the best of John Griffin with the first season of Kathy's reality show that is now on sale.

Counting down the Veronica's best

With news of "Veronica Mars' being gone officially now, I'm still NOT ready to move on.

Here are my Top 10 episodes of my favorite detective.

1) "Pilot": If you haven't watched this show, then this is the place to start. It had EVERYTHING but the kitchen sink: Murder, mayhem, intrigue and mystery. Plus the main character had her OWN baggage including a date rape and being hated by most of the school. One thing's for sure, this ain't "Nancy Drew." Plus, this begins one of the BEST friendships EVER! on a TV show.

2) "Normal Is the Watchword": After solving the "Who Killed Lilly Kane?" case, Veronica tries to be normal again, but a bus crash and a new murder mystery complicates things.

3)"Rat Saw God": The mystery of the bus crash haunts Veronica and the victims themselves seem to be reaching out to her.

4) Betty and Veronica: The school Mascot is missing and Wallace might have to miss a game in the school basketball championship. Plus, we solve the mystery of who's leaving Wallace Snickerdoodles in his locker!

5)"Like a Virgin": A purity test has all the school up in arms. This episode introduces us to the wonders of Cindy "Mac" Reynolds and furthers the "Who Killed Lilly Kane?" case.

6)"A Trip to the Dentist": Veronica solves the mystery of who raped her and trust me when I say, it ain't pretty. Plus we find out why Duncan mysteriously dumped Veronica.

7) "One Angry Veronica" : Veronica serves jury duty and is caught between the '09ers and the PCHers.

8) "Versatile Toppings": Veronica helps the gay students fend themselves off someone who's threating to out them. Despite some bad guest casting, it's one of the better episodes.

9) "Not Pictured" Veronica solves the mystery of who caused the bus crash!

10) "Spit and Eggs" Veronica solves the rape mystery.

OK, fans, I've listed mine: Now show me yours.

Rescue Me

A couple of summers ago, I fell in love with a smart, funny and raunchy show called "Rescue Me." It deals with the sad lives of firemen in NYC and is lead by the impressive and smart Denis Leary.

Plus the storylines were to die for. And then last summer, came a storyline so controversial that posters on message boards were outraged.

Depending on how you viewed the episode, Denis Leary's character "raped" his ex-wife and then left and smirked about it. I was so angry, so disgusted that I just didn't want to give this show my energy anymore and I stopped watching.

The creator if you click the link above describes the scene and how they feel about what happened. Me, I still don't buy it.

Tonight, the show returns and I'm on the fence about whether I want to watch or not.

Kathy Griffin's "My Life on the D-List"

If you're not watching this little reality gem, you probably should. It is hysterical! Kathy Griffin is a celebrity/fame whore and will do anything to be recognized, even dropping by fans' houses just to say "Hi."

With her hopes dashed to replace Rosie on "The View" this might be the last time we see Kathy for a while. Or then again, maybe not. Because this IS the National Enquirer saying this and so pardon me if I'll just wait for the announcement.

Why do good shows get cancelled?

OK, today I was in mourning. All freaking day. This announcement made me sad beyond words.

Maybe America isn't ready for a smart, funny and clever show? Is that it? I dunno but some fans have banded together (although too late) to try to send a message to Dawn Ostroff of the CW.

Now the irony of this situation? The CW is promoing "Veronica" do death and they are showing this season FROM THE BEGINNING and uninterrupted.

I wish I could say I'm officially done with the CW but I love "Top Model" and Tyra needs me.

What is going on with "Dateline"?

When did "Dateline" morph into Mystery of the Week? I know NBC is facing tough times these days but it wasn't that long ago that we could count on "Dateline" to provide good investigative reports.

Now, it seems that since we're in summer, we keep seeing reruns of Mysteries of the Week. It usually goes down like this: Someone is killed. The police investigate. Something doesn't seem right. Commerical break. Ann Curry comes back to recap what we've seen and then we rejoin the story. More details revealed, then the case is taken to court and the outcome is pretty much what we expected. The end.

YAWN!

I know tonight folks are probably glued to their sets to see the ending of "The Sopranos" but that's one show I never really could get into. I don't know why because the few episodes I did see, I thought I might like. Could someone let me know how it ends for pop culture purposes?

Paris is Free! No, wait.....

Am I a sick person taking glee that Paris is back in jail? What disturbs me more is that the apparently there is NO OTHER NEWS today because ALL of the TV broadcast is devoting much time to this story.

If you missed it, Isaiah Washington got booted from "Grey's" because of the controversy.

Some friends of mine say that this is a travesty because he has made amends. While I appreciate the fact he's a good actor and adds much to the show, his remaining there creates a "hostile work environment" for T.R. Knight. Would you want to work with someone who's shown an open disdain for you? Probably not.

My friends argue that he's one of the few African-American faces on a major network show. That may be true but now it's up to Shonda Rimes who's African-American to step up and find another actor who can be equally as great if not better. Hopefully, someone who's NOT a homophobe.

My life on the F-list

Thank goodness for Bravo! Last night, they showed a marathon of Kathy Griffin's "My Life on the D-List" plus a new special "Everybody Can Just Suck It." In which she makes reference to this funny scene from "The Today Show."

It's going to be an interesting season because (SPOILER ALERT) One of her parents dies (both are hysterically funny) and she deals with the ramifications of being divorced.

Earlier in the day, I caught Michael Moore on Oprah and he was talking about his new film "Sicko" . Based on what I saw yesterday, I can't WAIT to see this one.

And guess what: Another cartoon is coming to the big screen. First we had Transformers, and then He-man and now: THUNDERCATS!!!

I'm drawing the line at Jem.

And before I go: It looks like Turner Classic Movies is celebrating Gay Pride Month, so check it out.

Great Hera!

Another night, another yawner UNTIL I stumbled upon the jackpot. This show almost made me pee in my pants. I remember seeing the clip of this at Comic-Con almost two years ago and it almost made me cry.

Boomerang is going to start re-airing this version of the show starting at 8 p.m.(Yay!) I'm sad that the dumb Cartoon Network stopped airing this and this show. (Take the time to watch the entire clip, you'll enjoy it) So there's nothing really to watch on those networks for me anymore.

Best road songs ever
At my day job, we have a CD exchange club and our next exchange is Road Trip songs. Well, lo and behold there are a BUNCH of road trip lists out there. On Saturday, VH1 Classic will count down the 40 best road songs ever. And Rolling Stone Magazine has their list
as well.

Of course, I didn't peek but only posted.

Presidential debate

Um, you're probably wondering why the heck I'm talking about the debate? That's because a) there was nothing else on and b) it was actually pretty interesting.

This might be the first and last time I mention politics on the blog here but just wanted to point out that CNN did a great job although Wolf Blitzer looked a bit overwhelmed at time. I don't know if there's a winner/loser for the debate but I'd give this to HIllary Clinton with John Edwards doing surprisingly well. Obama was OK but he didn't really make me sit up and take notice.

The "second tier" candidates (CNN's words, not mine) didn't resonate with me either. I did like what Joe Biden had to say though about the Iraq war.

It's 7 p.m. and it's looking like a bleak evening on TV. When "Dateline" and "60 Minutes" look to be the most exciting things on TV, then you know you're in trouble. (OH GEEZ, I'm watching "Dateline"as I type this and it's a RE-RUN!!)
I'm doomed....

Ain't we lucky we got'em....

Another sad night for TV viewing. So flipping though the channels and the best they had to offer tonight was reruns of the "Good Times" starring a future R&B diva Janet Jackson. To this day, I still don't like Chip Fields, mother of this actress (hint, look for the little black girl).

These episodes were the first time I actually learned about child abuse and what that was. Say what you want about Janet now, she acted her you-know-what off in this episode.

Warning, lava lamps ahead

Flipping through the channels tonight, I settled on the most guiltiest of pleasures. VH-'s "40 Most Softsational Songs Ever"and I enjoyed every second of the two hours.

Although I disagree with what they chose as No. 1. (No, I'm not going to tell you what it was, you'll just have to watch." I will say though, it reignited my mancrush on Darryl Hall. And yes, I admit I have a BUNCH of their songs on my Ipod.

But why wasn't there MORE Lionel Richie and Kenny Rogers on this list? And where the heck is "Islands in the Stream?" Discuss. And of course this song should have been higher on the list. And this one should have been included. And let's not forget this one either.

Black dolls, white dolls

After a relaxing three day weekend, I decided to catch today's "Oprah." I'm so glad I did.

She had a teen-age filmmaker on who did a documentary on black kids and what kind of doll they desired if they had to choose between a white doll and a black doll. I was stunned to see ALL of the children chose the WHITE dolls. This test isn't anything new because Kenneth Clark did the same test back in the 1940s as part of the Brown v Board of Education.

It's shocking this behavior still exists in 2007. But, I'm guilty too because when I was a boy, I used to fantasize about being Superman, Wonder Woman, The Bionic Woman (she was cooler) but no black ones. Although, there weren't that many and still aren't, although DC Comics did try.

"Oprah" is usually full of fluff but today, she's full of substance and thank goodness for that.

And so begins, the summer TV season

Are you ready for some re-runs? I'm not. This Memorial Day weekend, I was hoping that some new programming would start so that we could have more to blog about. The best I could find is National Bingo Night and the directions to that show was sooo confusing, I can't even BEGIN to describe it. Needless to say, I've decided to skip that all together.

Scrolling through the channels tonight, the best I could find is a two-hour "Dateline" which looked bor-ing. Or I could be bummed that my guy Stone Phillips has been given the boot.

I'm debating on whether or not to try "So You Think You Can Dance?" or "America's Got Talent" but neither of them make my freak-flag want to fly high.

Needless to say, Netflix might be my friend this summer....

Heroes! 24 and American Idol

My LORD What a finale last night! It was just beyond awesome. In case you don't know, Peter AND Nathan sacrified themselves so others could live. But a few lingering questions remain: Why didn't Peter just fly himself away from danger? He's used two powers at once before: remember the episode where he turned invisible and was using TK to fling stuff at Isaac? So when he went nuclear, all he had to do is swoop out of there to some place where he couldn't do any harm. What's up with Candice keeping the illusion on when she was knocked out? I still don't get Nikki/Jessica but oh well.

24
While the season was disappointing I loved the finale! I can't wait to see where they take Jack next season.

American Idol
Jordin is so going to win this. But the Blake supporters might rally. Stay tuned.....

The finales are coming, the finales are coming!

Tonight begins a week of long goodbyes to some of my favorite (and not so favorite) shows.

Desperate Housewives

As I type this, I'm sitting here watching "Desperate Housewives" which I've had an on again-off-again-on-again love affair. This season was waaaay better than last but they lost me about six episodes ago. When I heard Marcia Cross was coming back for the finale, I knew I had to tune in. I've been spoiled about the ending so all I have to say is wooow! Who knew that one of the best characters on the show would try to off herself.

Heroes and 24
One of these shows was the bomb the whole season while the other bombed. Guess which is which? I'm counting down to the "Heroes" finale and can't wait!!! "24" I'm not so anxious about. I have no idea how either is going to end.

American Idol

I don't care who wins. Really. Melinda was robbed. That's all.

What's next?

Have you been catching the crapstatic commericals for the summer shows? There's one on ABC called "The Next Best Thing" where celebrity impersonators compete to see who's best. (YAWN)

Not to be outdone, CBS is offering "Pirate Master" about folks seeking buried treasure. Can we save "Survivor" lite.

And NBC is offering "America's Got Talent." Oh boy!

Needless to say I'm going to be Netflixing for the next few months.

I've been scammed!

Earlier this week, a friend asked me if I would go to a TV sneek peek with him. I said sure because I thought at last, someone will actually CARE what I thought about what's on TV.

Last night was the "sneek peek". Unfortunately, it was for the commericials they were showing with the TV shows. I knew something was odd about this whole scenario when before they showed the shows they had us fill out a survey asking us things like what kind of dog food we use to what kind of water/soft drink we prefer.

Then the lights dimmed and they showed us these two really OLD shows. Like, 1998 old. The reason I knew is one starred Kim Raver from "24" and she looked as if she was in her mid 20s and the guy that played T-Bag from "Prison Break"." He too looked extremely young. What really tipped me off is one of the people was using a cell phone in the preview and she had to flip it out and pull out her antenna. The show was horrid! It was called "Soul Mates" and it was about two people who were lovers in a former life. It was BAD.

Then the bad MC of the evening proceeded to ask us more questions about things we liked and then we were into the second show. It too was old. It looked like "Full House" and starred C. Thomas Howell. Only on this one, every one of the male leads had a child. GAG. I'm sure some of those kids who looked to be around 8ish at the time are probably in high school now.
Rue McClanahan was actually the bright spot of this dismal show.

After that, they had a raffle and I won a $40 gift basket which will be mailed to me in "2-4 weeks" (Yeah, right)

We also took an 80-question plus survey which asked all sorts of crapola. I'm positive most people knew this was a marketing scam but many were good sports about it. I have to go though, suddenly, I have this strong urge to eat Lay's potato chips.

Worst. Day. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Goodbye Veronica.

Note to the CW: "A long time ago, we used to be friends but come fall I won't be thinking of you at all..."

Upfronts and "Idol"

ABC and NBC rolled out their new schedules yesterday and today.

I'm really excited about "The Bionic Woman" ( http://www.nbc.com/Fall_Preview/Bionic_Woman/#). It looks awesome. I pray that Lindsey Wagner will guest star as an aunt or a cousin or something. Plus, I need to see the slow-running and hear the neh-neh-neh-neh bionic sound.

Other than that, I'm not that thrilled with their schedule. And I'm shocked that they are doing a "Heroes" spinoff. But, we'll see how it goes.

I'm waiting on pins and needles about the fate of "Veronica." It sounds as if hope is gone but I need them to tell me something. It'll be a shame to see this brilliant show go away.

American Idol.
WOW! I have NO idea who's going to be the next "Idol" because all three of them kicked major booty tonight. I want Melinda to win but I suspect it will be Jordin Sparks because she's the best all-around. Blake seemed to gimmicky to me but we'll see how America votes.

"Survivor" update

Yep. My spoilers were dead on! The final three of Earl, Cassandra and Dreamz.

It was the best Tribal Council ever as Dreamz went back on his word and stabbed Yau-Man in the back. Had he not, Yau would have TOTALLY won and should have won this season. You had this skinny, older man who outwitted, outlasted and outplayed a bunch of these youn'uns. I'm hoping that Rosie O'Donnell or someone will reward him for his efforts. He was TOTALL cheated. It also goes to show you that you can't trust people.

Plus we learned that Dreamz has a child and that he went on national TV and lied. He went on and on about how it hurt him. Whatev dude. You didn't win.

Are you ready for the "Survivor" finale?

I was on the road last week and I stopped at a cousin's house to see the last 10 minutes of "The Amazing Race." I couldn't believe who won!! Tonight, my other "Can't Miss" reality show is on. We're down to the final five and with a two-hour finale, I'm betting two folks will be booted within the first hour.

I've read some spoilers and if they are true, it's going to be a doozy. I would LOVE if Earl or Yau-Man won because they've played the game the best out of everyone. If Earl wins, he'll be the first African-American male to win "Survivor." If Yau-Man wins, he'll be the second Asian following Yul from last season.

Monday

"24" was yet another dud this week. I absolutely don't care how this season ends because after a bang-up start, they just couldn't seem to get it together. R.I.P. Milo. Please tell Tony, Michelle and David Palmer that we miss them. Give a hug to Curtis for me too.

Tuesday

Workout
This week, the trainers all grieved for the loss of Doug who died unexpectedly in January. I thought he was the classiest person on the show but I was taken aback that they devoted less than FIVE minutes to his death on the show and more about the fat people who participated in Jackie's weight-loss camp. I know it's Jackie's show but really?! Couldn't Doug's death have taken up a whole episode? Next week is the reunion show and based on the previews, it's going to be ugly with Rebecca, Jackie and Jesse oh and let's not forget MIMI returns!

Veronica Mars

OY! The wait for renewal is KILLING me. Everyday new news happens. Some say it will be renewed, others say it won't. I wish that it would and I'm not to thrilled about this FBI concept. But I still want to see Kristen Bell on my TV every week so I'll take what I can get. I LOVED Paul Rudd this week. He was AWESOME beyond words. I hope they'll bring him back next season. (Yeah, I said it).

Law & Order SVU
Lordy. Did y'all see they were thisclose to showing Chris Meloni's backside? I kept yelling for the cameraman to drop the camera but alas no. Of course, I could rent copies of the greatest drama ever and watch it at will. The stories keep getting better and better and it was so cool to see Sean from "Nip/Tuck" do a turn as a bad guy. He's so goody-goody on that show that it makes me sick sometimes.

Wednesday

American Idol
America got it wrong. That's all. LaKisha goes home BEFORE Blake the human beat-box???!!

Lost
"Lost" has lost me. I'm so glad they announced an end to this show because I'm ready for it to be done. My guess, it'll be the dream of some passenger on the plane. If it's an austistic child, I'm through.

One last post before vacation....

I'm taking a few days off to make a long overdue visit to family and friends but wanted to do a quick round-up around the tube.

Tonight! The return of VERONICA MARS! I've seen the episode it and its amazing. Our girl is BACK in a big way. At first, I didn't like the fact that we're going to do solo mysteries but I think the format works. I pray that enough people will tune in so we can get a fourth season of the show.

Best things about the show: Veronica and Wallace. Keith! Mac and a possible new love interest! and the birth of ViPiz!

If you're not watching, you really are missing out on one of the best hours TV has to offer.

American Idol
Tonight the "Idols" got to rock it out with Jon Bon Jovi and let me tell you that LaKisha and Melinda were great, but Blake (with a new black 'do) stole the show! My prediction that Jordin and Chris are in danger.

The Amazing Race

Well, the final three are The Beauty Queens, Eric and Danielle and Charla and Mirna. My guess is that the Beauty Queens are going to take this thing. However, I wouldn't count Charla and Mirna out. If they can get the other teams to discount them and they work together and think they might have a shot.

Ugly Betty

This is the gem of the season. I'm totally in love (in a non creepy way) with Justin and Mark. Last week's episode when Justin told his mom to ditch the earrings was just priceless! I just pray that Henry and Betty wind up together.

And that's it. I'll pick the blog up in a few days. Until then, remember, it's not you, it's not me. It's TV!

Big Gay Sketch Show

I was flipping during the American Idol telethon last night and remembered that I saw a promo for a new comedy show on Logo called the "Big Gay Sketch Show." It's produced by Rosie O' Donnell and direct by Amanda Bearse (Remember her from "Married... with children."

I tuned in and it's not half bad! SNL has nothing to worry about but I think it's a great idea that Logo is finally doing more original programming.

The comedians are pretty funny and the best thing of all is not all of them are gay. If you missed the first episode, tune in to Logo because they'll rerun it ad nauseum.

American Idol
What the hell?! That was my comments last night after watching the telethon. They didn't boot anyone off! And I spent three hours of my life waiting. I'm worried for LaKisha so hopefully she can get it together and get it done right. Jordin needs to go!

Thank GOD for NELs!!!!!

For you "Amazing Race" watchers, Team Cha-Cha was in troooble tonight but thanks to a non-elimination leg, they were spared.

I was sad that the evil beauty queens bribed them to yield another team. But it totally backfired as the team that was yielded surged ahead and managed to come in second. But because they were already marked for elimination, they managed to come in third. Now they are the last and must be first to miss the penality.

I want them to win and I have confidence they'll be able to hold it together. If they don't win, I sooo want Charla to win. Mirna needs to be slapped for her rudeness to Charla and the other teams. It's also weird that she makes Charla do all the crappy stuff.

Apologies, it's been a crazy week....

I've had this event that I've been planning for months and now last night was the big event. I'm sorry for treating this blog like a step child.

The week in review:
American Idol
I'm going to go for the best thing EVER: Sanjaya is gone!!!!! Sanjaya is gone!!! Sanjaya is GONE!! Thank Athena. Thank Zeus, Thank whomever!! I was sooo worried that he was going to ruin "Idol." But America finally came to its senses and got rid of this loser! Although I felt sad for him when he started crying.

America's Next Top Model
Thank GAWD Jael is gone. She was tooo spacey, tooo wacky for this show. I just can't believe she even made it this far. I'm totally rooting for Jaselene who gave us this lovely quote: "I've never been nowhere except the hood and around the corner." Yep, they're supposed to be pretty, smart apparently isn't part of the package.

Oprah
The queen of "O" took on the whole Don Imus controversy and she had Russell Simmons and a few others to talk about the comment. I was soo proud of the women of Spelman College who stood up to them and said the usage of some words are inappropriate. She also took on the Virginia Tech tragedy and we ended the week going green.

Lost
Oh. MY. GOD!
"Lost" is bringing mystery back big time! The whole Desmond flashback episode wasn't the greatest but it keeps things moving. Although I want to get on the island and yell at these people for not working on a way to get everyone home or at least signal for help. Instead, these folks are just chillin'

And now...I cannot wait until Monday when we save the world with "Heroes!!!!"

America's Next Top Model

So long Whitney!
One of my favorite models from this season got the boot tonight. I'm bummed because she was pretty and smart and NOT a size 0. I wanted her to win so badly because I'm sick of stick figures being rewarded as models.

But at least she got a chance. It was also cool to see the past models Bre and Kim again who appeared during a challenge which required re-enactments of scenes from past seasons. I'm glad most of the girls got work! But some of them I had to remind myself who they were.

And now a word about Tyra. It's time for her stylist to be fired. Seriously. Why is she rocking fashions by Rhoda Morgenstern? The headwraps, the go-go boots. It's like she raided her mom's closet and decided to wear her old clothes. I know she's a retired model but my lord, can she be fashionable?????

Work out

I'm sitting here watching "Work Out" and it's kinda surreal watching it. One of the trainers, Doug Blasel died and tonight's the episode where it all goes down.

We see that it's Doug's birthday and minutes later, we find out that he's in a coma. In addition to that drama, we see that his ex partner needs a kidney transplant and there's still some feelings there.

Jackie has her own drama going on because she's juggling TWO hot babes. Oddly enough, both of the women used to be straight but Jackie's the only woman they've ever dated.

I won't go there but this show which was supposed to be about fitness has morphed into this lesbian drama. I thought I wouldn't like it, but I just can't get enough!

Catching up a bit

Last week was crazy! I managed to catch up on some neglected TV viewing such as "America's Next Top Model" and "The Amazing Race."

I'm convinced that Mirna from "TAR" and Jael from "ANTM" are cut from the same cloth. The CRAZY cloth.

I wish I could tell Mirna to stop with the fake accents! I want them to win because poor Charla has gone through so much, that it would be nice if she could get something out of her time with Mirna! Although, I laughed my behind off a few weeks ago when neither knew what a catamaran was!

Over on "Top Model" Jael make a joke and a jerk of herself when she kept harassing 50 Cent at a party. Although, I'm suprised there wasn't an uproar when 50 pushed her into a pool! What is the girl couldn't swim? He could have just got up and moved or left but pushing a woman is uncalled for. I have a feeling that that moment will come back to haunt him.

I didn't watch "Desperate Housewives" because a) why air a new show on Easter and b) it's been so long that I don't care anymore.

Meanwhile, I've been searching high and low for any morsel on "Veronica Mars" but I suspect it's a lost cause. Either way, I'll buy the show when it comes out on DVD.

Eight hours for 20 seconds?

Yep. I waited at Viejas Casino for 8 fraking (Hello BSG fans) hours yesterday to try out for "Deal or No Deal."

My girlfriend and some of her church friends waited too to try out. A co-worker of mine did the wise thing and left to play the cards games. (I hope he won).

While in line, I met the most interesting folks. One girl wanted the money to get married and adopt a baby. The another wanted the money to start a new life after having some hard times. The group I was with all wanted to donate some money to their church and then use it to send grandchildren to college or buy a house.

I don't know if any of us impressed anyone but we gave it the try.

I got there at 10 a.m. and drove around looking for a parking spot. Twenty minutes later, I was STILL looking. I noticed folks are rude when it comes to parking. I got cut off three times when clearly I was next for the spot. I was tempted to key a few cars yesterday when I saw that they purposely took up two and in one case THREE parking spots. I was shocked and appalled about it. But I thought karma might get the best of me and I let it pass.

Then the waiting began. One poor handicapped man waited so long that his walker broke. They called the ambulance but luckily he was OK. Once they found a wheelchair for him, he was ready to get back in the line.

The wait was so long, folks went shopping, went to eat and came back and the line moved very little. We were told by several people that once we made it to the big tent that we had another two hours to wait. They didn't lie. We waited and waited and waited. Then we were told another tent awaited us and then another tent and THEN we got to the casting folks.

We got asked this question"What would you do with the million dollars?" I told them that I would build my brother a new house, pay some bills and that I wanted to be on the show badly. Plus I threw this little gem in "Tomekia is so fine, she might turn me straight." The guy laughed and wrote something on my form my guess: "This queen is crazy" or a big NO!

Then they told us that we might be called a year from now. Oh joy, 364 more days to go........

To catch an identity thief

"Dateline" has been jumping all over child predators and after more than a dozen shows, they've finally moved on.

Now, the show is targeting identity thieves. We all knew how out of control this problem is, but I don't think I had any idea of the scope of this crime.

Last week, they showed how a credit card could be maxed out in seconds by identity thieves. This week, Chris Hansen travels to Africa to track down the ID thieves.

It's shocking how quickly and how methodically they work. And their No 1 target is Americans. Chris points out that ID thieves could even be your waiter (you know how you send that credit card away to get your bill paid? If the waiter is an ID thief, you've given him a ticket to your account) or even people who books your airplane tickets whomever.

It's enough to give all us pause.
